Years ago, my father was tired of buying and later helping to pay to fix beaters for me and my two brothers. So he says, as y’all go through college you’ll hand-me-down this brand new 2003 Focus ZX3.

During his research he asked the mechanics at the Ford dealer he worked at as a body shop man what issues or weaknesses were in the Focus and one of them mentioned that the control arms were a little weak and if you hit something like a curb it’ll probably break.

As the oldest son, I drove the car first. And no joke, 5 weeks in, a pickup truck left the ice on their roof which flew off and in my attempt to avoid it, I swerve and slide into and strike a curb.

The car ended up needing a new wheel and a lower control arm.

These days I always make sure my roof is clear of snow and ice.

Ok. You got to me on this one. This shit pisses me off so bad. People who scrape their windshields, maybe just the driver’s half, and drive off to high speed roads knowing there is a 1/2” thick sheet of ice all over their vehicle.
